I’ve already checked their FAQ page and didn’t see it. Can they still do an analysis if you’ve added oil to it? The Integra burns between one and two quarts between every oil change. So can I send them a sample when I change it and just tell them it’s taken two quarts or do I need to get the sample before I’ve replenished any oil?

They certainly can, but your numbers will obviously be off. Just take a small sump sample before you add anything and tell them the mileage at sample.

No, this sample will not enter their labs. The gods who protect Blackstone labs only allow pure used oil samples to enter. All other samples are turned away for rejecting the teachings of his most holy high mileage.

metal/mineral contaminant content information won’t change, wear properties and detergent levels of the oil itself will obviously be less meaningful

They have a section where you write how much you’ve added. I’m guessing they have a formula for figuring it all out.

I’ll probably do it then. I’m more concerned with engine wear than how the oil’s holding up. I do 5k oil changes and don’t track it, so I doubt the oil is breaking down seriously.

You should still get decent info on if your bearings are wearing, you already know the rings aren’t great lol

That’s the supplement logo. Laboratory logo is like this.

The one on the site is just white with blue background and won’t show up I don’t think. Interesting

Nothing’s gonna stop them from doing an analysis, the results are just going to come back slightly “cleaner” than they should because some fresh oil has been cut in. There’s a comment box on the form, just note that some oil has been added.

They have a section on the form that asks how much oil was added. The BRZ doesn’t burn oil (that I’ve noticed) so I haven’t used that but Im sure they’ve got some calculation for it.

They can’t figure out things like that, but it factors into their analysis. Say you’ve added 5 liters to a 6 Liter sump yet you still have insane wear metals, they’ll assume you’ve got a problem whereas if it was a full sump of 10k mile oil it may be normal for the engine.
